Dear Reader,
What is a griper? A griper is someone who complains naggingly or grumbles. A griper may have a particular thing that they like to complain about or the person may just gripe (lästern) for the sake of it. In some cases the person may have a legitimate complaint.
Planning your meeting
When planning a meeting consider including recent issues or other general problem areas. For example,
- Customer service
- Loss prevention
- Policies & procedures
- Business goals

As you plan the meeting, be sure to keep the tone positive. Bring up any good examples you’ve seen exhibited by the team. Use the meeting to role play, or physically show the participants how to do something. People accept and retain information differently. Keep the meeting on topic, brief and include a printed outline of the information discussed to give to everyone.
Be sure to open the floor for any questions, comments or concerns. Let the team provide feedback and air any grievances they may have. If the meeting is turning into a gripe session, ask for solutions to the problems or ask someone else to handle a question. It could lead to a better working environment for everyone involved.
Follow up Once the meeting is over, take time to follow up on any concerns or questions brought up in the meeting and provide feedback as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Nelly Thomas
