Dear Reader,
What can you do if you are leading an international meeting and there is a personality clash (die Chemie paßt nicht) between members of the meeting? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but sometimes differences of opinion get too heated. Other times, people just don’t get along.

What to do?
- Compliment the individuals on their enthusiasm and participation. Then, ask them to focus on constructive solutions.
- Emphasize points the points where there is agreement.
- Toss out a question to the rest of the group to bring them back into the discussion.
This reminds me a little bit of when I was attending university and the professor would say we were acting like in kindergarten.
Kind regards,
