Dear Reader,
So far in this series, we have looked at financial vocabulary on regarding key contacts, personal papers, ownership and taxes. Another financial issue that is important to us all is personal banking and which documents do I need.
As you know, the US banking system is set up differently from Europe. Today we will be looking at banking vocabulary that is usual for an American. An awareness exercise based on Page 4 of At your fingertips is attached as a separate worksheet.
In Germany, we have some other banking options which are different to the USA. For example:
Girokonto = current account
Bankkarte mit Kreditkarte = debit/credit card
Geld überweisen = to wire funds / to make a wire transfer
I hope you enjoy the next step in this series.
Kind regards,
Nelly Thomas
