New Year’s Wishes

Dear Reader,

In the New Year, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship, never in want.

This Irish toast is one of my favorites when it comes to New Year’s greetings.

Do you want to send a special New Year greeting to your business partners? Here is a collection of New Year greetings. Some of the greetings convey worldly wisdom, while others present a diverse perspective about the New Year. Here are some of my favorite New Year’s greetings:

[adcode categories=“sprachen,englisch“]

Thomas Mann
Time has no divisions to mark its passage; there is never a thunderstorm or blare of trumpets to announce the beginning of a new month or year. Even when a new century begins it is only we mortals who ring bells and fire off pistols.

Alfred Lord Tennyson
Ring out the old, ring in the new,

Ring, happy bells, across the snow:

The year is going, let him go;

Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Edith Lovejoy Pierce
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.´

Charles Dickens

A merry Christmas to everybody! A happy New Year to the world!

John Greenleaf Whittier
We meet today
To thank Thee for the era done,
And Thee for the opening one.

Benjamin Franklin
Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better man.

William Arthur Ward
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest
To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

Charles Lamb

Of all sound of all bells, the most solemn and touching is the peal which rings out the Old Year.

I hope that Everybody had a Merry Christmas and that the World has a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Nelly Thomas
