  • it’s not too difficult = it is
  • it shouldn’t be so difficult = should not
  • you’ve only to remember two rules = you have
  • don’t worry = do not

Es bildet den Plural von Abkürzungen:
  • In the 1990s, more and more Americans bought SUV’s (sport and utility vehicle).
  • Note that there is no apostrophe in 1990s!
Es zeigt den Besitz an:
    • the United States: The United States‘ next president could be a woman.
Übung zum Apostroph: Its oder it’s?
It’s ist die Kurzform von it is (it’s windy today). Its ist ein Possessivpronomen (the company lost all its customers). Wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind, ob Sie ein Apostroph verwenden sollten, versuchen Sie, das Wort in it is aufzuspalten. It is windy today ist richtig, The company lost all it is customers nicht.
  1. It’s / Its your turn to make coffee.
  2. I found this pocket calculator on the floor. It’s / Its yours, isn’t it?

  4. It’s / Its easy getting up in summer when the sun shows it’s / its face.

(Auflösung: 1. It’s, 2. It’s, 3. its, 4. It’s und its, 5. its)
