Dear Reader,
In the second part of this three-part series, we are going to tune up expressions with “make”. In the last issue, we learned two basic rules for “make”. Beyond those rules, however, there are many expressions that take make.
By answering the following questions using the “make” phrase, you can improve your everyday Business English at the same time:
- Where do they make these computers?
- Who is making all that noise?
- Who did you make an appointment with last week?
- Did you make any arrangements for this week?
- Does taking public transportation to work make a difference for you?
- Do you make a “to-do” list?
- Who has been making a mistake?
- Do you think it’s appropriate to ask how much money a person makes?
- How many phone calls did you make today?
- Did your company make a profit or a loss last year?
- Are you making progress with your English?

Next time, we’ll take a look at those expressions with “do”. In the meantime, I need to make an appointment for next week and I have to make a list of who will attend the next meeting. I hope that making all of these arrangements will make a big difference while I am away on vacation.
Sincerely,
